Sony Ericsson ""Memory Card problem (Walkman Spiro) is the cracking problem!!! Getting the Spiro to detect a memory
card was beyond the struggle of many. Just like many out there, I tried a
16 GB micro SD on
the Spiro only to find out that my problems were
about to start. The phone does support a max 16GB so when this happened,
I started having doubts till I came across many who didn't even managed
to get a 4GB and 8GB card to be detected by the walkman Spiro. Soon I
found the solution after a guy who finally gave me the answer. All
credits to Kossim Utin for giving me the
solution. For those who have
the same problem do not worry. If your phone displays card capacity as
1kb,dont worry ...rescue has arrived!!! dont worry bout sd and sdhc
,they both can be used in Spiro.. All you need to do is format your
memory card,but there's a trick to it. Below are the steps:
1. Turn off the phone and remove the memory card.
2.
Format you sd or sdhc card manually in your PC/MAC. To do that , go to
My Computer and locate your memoy card. Right click on it and choose
format. (Remember to back up!!!Don't do a quick format, so untick the
box.
3.After completely fomatting the memory card, reinsert it into the Spiro and turn on the phone.
4.By
presing the volume buton on the side, the Spiro should show 1kb free as
the memory status.(Just ignore that and proceed). Follow the navigation
in the next step on your phone.
5.From the standby(main screen):
Menu>>Organiser>>File Manager>>Option>>Memory
Status>>Memory Card>>Option>>Format mem.card

Make sure you have done all data back up as I would not accept any
blame for data loss. Choose Yes and the phone will proceed formating the
mem.card.
7. While formatting, the phone will eventually prompt a
"The were error in formatting" bla bla n ect. (don't worry everything
is going fine)
8. With that out of the way, turn your phone off
and remove the memory card and re format the memory card again manually
in your PC/MAC just like in step 2.
9. Once done proceed with step 3 and 4 and you are done!!!
